Oh, So You Didn't Get The Memo?

“You…are a very lucky…,” the boy belched, “man, Jenrin.”
“Berrin, you are horribly drunk.” He pointed out.
They laughed again.
“So? Whats your point…If you’s got one,” He chuckled, his face still plastered to the table.
“I’m leaving, your making me sick.” He got up.
They pointed at him and laughed at him harder, and Jenrin began to feel droplets of spittle from the laughing.
The place reaked, and he couldn’t breathe. He walked out and took in a deep breath of air.
Another boy followed him out, looking at him.
“Hi, Jenrin.” He said.
“You sound sober.” Jenrin was amazed.
“I didn’t feel like drinking.” He said, smiling with a hint of worry to him.
“Bruan, what happened while I was away?” He wondered suddenly.
Bruan’s face dropped. His mouth went wide and terror sweeped over him.
“You haven’t heard yet?” He asked.
“What?” Jenrin prodded meanly. He was getting frustrated with a lack of communication.
“War has broken out.”

  1. it seems that when your characters smile, they never smile, with a hint of happiness.
